The Invisalign system allows you to transform your smile discreetly and comfortably with virtually invisible removable braces that are custom-made specifically for straightening your teeth. Using advanced 3D computer-imaging technology, Invisalign depicts your complete treatment plan based on your Invisalign Provider’s prescription, from the initial position of your teeth to the final desired position.
Invisalign treatment can be a great solution for both adults and teens looking for a virtually invisible method to improve their smile. Our innovations and technological advancements make it possible to fix nearly all common teeth-straightening and bite issues, from simple to complex — all without interrupting your busy life.
A series of clear aligners are custom-made for your teeth and each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series. As you replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.
The first step is to take a scan of your teeth.
This scan will go onto produce a 3D model of your mouth. A computer software will model your teeth and show what the outcome of your teeth will look like after treatment is complete.
Once you approve your plan, your unique aligners will be created. You will wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners approximately every 2 weeks. Each set of aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into place, according to your treatment plan, towards your beautiful new smile.
Invisalign is not a painful process you may feel some minor discomfort at the start of each new stage of aligners. This is normally taken as a sign that the aligners are working and moving your teeth. You will need to visit the dentist on regular basis to monitor your progress and make any adjustments that you may need. Depending on the severity of your teeth full treatment can take from 9 to 18 months.

Each aligner is worn for about two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series.
As you
replace each aligner every two weeks, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, you will
remove them only to eat, drink, brush and floss.
Your dentist will check on your progress around every
six weeks.
Your treatment ends when you have worn each set of aligners and you and your dentist are happy with
the final results.
To help keep your bright new smile, we will advise you on retainers and how to
maintain your new bright confident smile.
Now that your clear brace has been fitted you may experience a little discomfort in your mouth as it is something new.
The teeth themselves will also feel slightly tender to bite on for the first 24 hours and after each change of the clear aligner. You may also find that, for the first few days, your jaw aches because of the pressure of the brace. If this is the case, you may find a painkiller helps – the type you might take for a headache will be fine.
If the discomfort lasts longer than a few days, please give us a call.
Please take extra care with biting and chewing, especially in the first few weeks.
Try to avoid really hard or sticky foods. You should not eat with your clear aligners in place.
A normal diet is recommended but special preparation of the food, so as to reduce the chewing required, may be necessary. Please never bite hard against the appliance, and do not chew pencils! High sugar foods and drinks should be kept to a minimum.
Hard foods can be eaten with care if you cut them up first!
Thorough cleaning and use of a daily fluoride mouthwash is highly recommended.
Failure to clean under the clear brace effectively will result in damage to the enamel of the teeth which may only become noticeable when the appliance is removed.
Please use the orthodontic or electric toothbrush that we have recommended to you along with the Tepe brushes to keep your mouth as clean as possible.
You may find the occasional use of a disclosing tablet will help you to maintain cleanliness.
We will arrange an appointment with one of our hygienists’ for a maintenance appointment; they will guide you on the correct cleaning techniques.
After your treatment is completed, to avoid relapse of the teeth, it is strongly recommended you wear a removable and fixed retainer to maintain the teeth in their new position.
